Join me on this beautiful journey as I recount our memorable journey filled with adventure and fun. Before diving into my journey to Neelam Valley I will tell you some facts about Neelam Valley. It’s 140KM thick forest in Azad Kashmir and its named after the Neelam river. It’s located on the north-east side of Muzaffarabad (the capital of Azad Kashmir).
Traveling with friends i fun without a doubt. Started the journey by entering Hassanabdal motorway interchange, headed towards Abbottabad. The traveling along the motorway itself was a treat due to the beautiful scenery. By midday, we decided to have lunch at the famous Qalanderabadi Chapli Kababs. The lunch was as good as its reputation, and it filled us with joy for the journey ahead.
After lunch, we continued our journey towards Neelam Valley. Soon we reached Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir. The city itself is a real beauty. Our eyes were stunned by seeing flowing rivers, mountain peaks, and the Kashmiri desi culture.
After a three-to four-hour journey ahead of Muzaffarabad, we reached Neelam valley and stayed there for three days. The air in the valley was so pure that it felt like a blessing. Some of the famous spots that we visited are Keran, Sharda, Kel, and Arang Kel.
People looking for scenery and breathtaking views should visit Keran and Arang Kel because their beauty is unparalleled. It also supports shorts treks or jeep rides. Sharda village was home to ancient ruins. People who love history with the touch of nature’s beauty, it’s a must-watch for them. For hiking lovers, Kel is the best place without a second thought. It’s also the gateway to the higher reaches of the valley.
We went hiking in deep forests, along the riverbanks, enjoyed local hospitality, captured charming landscapes, wildlife. This trip refreshed our souls. If you are looking for adventure and peace covered in nature’s beauty, then you must visit Neelam Valley!
